On the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, a tribute ceremony was held at the statue site in Hill Chowk on Saturday. Former MLA of Torpa, Koche Munda, paid floral tributes to Birsa Munda’s statue, honoring the revered leader. The event saw the presence of local representatives, BJP workers, and a large number of villagers.
Koche Munda stated that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was not just a warrior for the tribal community but an inspiration for the entire nation’s freedom struggle. He led the ‘Ulgulan’ movement against the British, providing a new direction to society. Birsa Munda’s life, symbolizing struggle, sacrifice, and social reform, continues to inspire everyone today. Munda appealed to the youth to emulate Birsa Munda’s ideals and contribute to the development of society and the nation. The gathering included BJP State Working Committee member Santosh Jaiswal, Vinod Bhagat, Shashank Shekhar Rai, and numerous other party leaders and workers. Speakers highlighted Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s contributions, emphasizing the need for all sections of society to unite and work towards building the Jharkhand of his dreams.
