Khunti Netralaya Honours Rupi Soren With Cataract Surgeries

A tribute service day was held at Swami Dayanand Netralaya in Khunti on Saturday, dedicated to the memory of the late Rupi Soren. During the event, 17 patients successfully underwent cataract surgery and lens implantation.

The surgical procedures were conducted by Dr. Samuel Aman Topno, who holds a fellowship from Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai.

Every patient who underwent surgery was provided with black glasses, medicines and meals. Sarees were also distributed to the patients as a gesture of support.

Patients thanked the organisers for the help extended in their native Mundari language. They also appreciated the affectionate conduct of the netralaya staff toward them.

Atmaram Foundation, Ranchi, and Vishwa Jagriti Mission, New Delhi, lent their support to the programme.

Dr. Nirmal Singh, Director of the netralaya, said Rupi Soren had always remained committed to serving those in need. The aim of the initiative was to honour her memory and to bring healthcare services to the underprivileged.

The netralaya management said that service activities in her memory will continue in the future.
