Three JPSC members resign as CID probe into exam irregularities continues
In a dramatic development that adds another layer to the ongoing crisis, three members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission – Ajita Bhattaacharya, Anima Hansda and Jamal Ahmad – submitted their resignations on Sunday evening. The resignations were handed to Governor Satish Gangwar, who promptly accepted them.
The departures come amid an active CID investigation into alleged malpractices in the recent JPSC exams. While the commission’s investigative team gathers evidence, student leaders continue to press for a CBI‑run probe, arguing that the CID’s limited scope will not address the systemic issues they have highlighted. The situation remains volatile, with health concerns also emerging after hunger‑strike leader Devendra Mahato reportedly experienced a decline in his condition.
