Chief Minister's Secretariat Press Release – 252/2026 09 July 2026 New Delhi/Ranchi Jharkhand Signs Historic MoUs to Promote Industry, Digital Transformation and Tourism Jharkhand attracts more than ₹99,000 crore investment in industry, technology and tourism sectors During the concluding session of the National Stakeholders' Consultation, the Jharkhand government took a major leap to transform the state's economic and industrial landscape. On this historic occasion, a total of 14 MoUs were signed across various sectors, attracting a massive proposed industrial investment of ₹99,639 crore to the state. Under the Department of Industries, historic investment agreements were finalized with leading national companies. These include investment agreements of ₹40,000 crore by M/s Jindal Steel Ltd. and ₹30,000 crore by M/s Jindal Nuclear Power Pvt. Ltd. These huge investments demonstrate Jharkhand's development potential and unwavering investor confidence in the state government's policies. A new dawn in technology and e‑governance: strategic partnerships were forged with technology giants to strengthen the state's digital ecosystem and governance framework. Under the Information Technology & E‑Governance Department, formal agreements were signed with M/s Google Cloud and Wadhwani Group for expanding technology infrastructure and promoting e‑governance initiatives. Boosting tourism and citizen outreach: innovative collaborations were initiated to explore the state's rich heritage and opportunities in tourism. This includes a partnership with M/s TATA Motors to promote ‘mining tourism’ and a strategic partnership with M/s EaseMyTrip Planners to enhance tourism promotion and broaden visitor outreach. These partnerships underline the government's commitment to attract investment, accelerate innovation, and position Jharkhand as a leading destination in industry, technology and sustainable tourism. All these historic agreements were concluded in the dignified presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr Hemant Soren. Senior ministers and top officials of the state government were also present, including Hon’ble Minister Mrs Dipika Pandey, Hon’ble Minister Mr Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Hon’ble Minister Mr Sudivya Kumar, Hon’ble Minister Mr Irfan Anshari, Chief Secretary Mr Avinash Kumar and Development Commissioner Mr Ajay Kumar Singh. On behalf of the state government, secretaries of the concerned departments—IT Secretary Mrs Pooja Singhal, Industries Secretary Mr Arva Rajkaml, and Tourism Secretary Mr Mukesh Kumar—and authorized representatives of the companies signed the MoUs, marking the beginning of a new industrial era. This historic step will take Jharkhand on a new path of progress, employment generation and technological development. #TeamPRD
