Jharkhand Leads Research on Voter Lists Ahead of 2026 Election

Following the mandate from the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, Jharkhand was assigned the task of researching voter registration and voter list management. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office called for abstracts worldwide, receiving 230 submissions. After a rigorous review by the knowledge‑partner teams, 80 abstracts were shortlisted and ultimately 57 full research papers were selected for presentation in technical sessions. The conference will explore administrative, legal, social, technological and academic dimensions of voter list creation, aiming to enhance inclusivity, accuracy and reliability of the electoral roll.
