Ranchi reports that doctors in Jharkhand are set to begin a state‑wide agitation on Monday. Around 20,000 physicians from government hospitals, medical colleges and private health centres will wear black bands while providing care until October 20, marking their protest.
A symbolic strike will follow on October 21, after which an open‑ended strike is planned for October 22 if the government does not meet the demands.
The core issues revolve around the introduction of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) for timely salary increments, amendments to the Clinical Establishment Act, and the creation of a Medical Protection Act to guarantee doctors' safety.
