Jharkhand Health Ministry Targets Rural Areas with PG Specialists

The health department is in the final stages of talks with several South Indian medical institutions to secure a pool of postgraduate experts in obstetrics, neonatology, surgery and related fields. Once selected, doctors will be deployed not only to district hospitals but also to CHCs and PHCs that currently rely on general MBBS doctors. The presence of specialists at these peripheral centres is expected to reduce patient referrals to larger hospitals in Ranchi and improve overall health outcomes in underserved villages.
