In a serious accusation, BJP State President and Leader of Opposition, Babu Lal Marandi, has alleged that the Jharkhand government is fabricating new crimes to conceal existing ones. Marandi stated that the government and the system have developed a habit of creating new offenses to hide the reality of crime in Jharkhand. Recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) actions in the coal mafia’s domain in Dhanbad have unearthed startling evidence. The most alarming aspect is the alleged directive from certain high-ranking police officials, enriched by illegal coal earnings, to eliminate key ground operatives of coal mafias permanently.
Information suggests that plots are being hatched to murder individuals being questioned by the ED, precisely to prevent the truth from surfacing. Marandi recalled past incidents in the state where ‘encountering evidence’ was disguised as apprehending criminals. He pointed to a former DGP who allegedly orchestrated contract killings and was widely considered the most corrupt in Jharkhand’s history, even by members of the ruling party. The opposition leader urged the ED to exercise extreme caution, emphasizing that in Jharkhand, those who suppress the truth, not those who speak it, hold power. When power, the system, and organized crime align, the subversion of justice becomes a mere formality.
