Jharkhand Announces AI Policy 2026‑2031 and Digital Infrastructure Drive
During the National Stakeholders Consultation‑2026, Jharkhand presented the draft Jharkhand Artificial Intelligence Policy for the period 2026‑2031. The policy outlines a roadmap for creating AI‑driven solutions in sectors such as governance, health, agriculture, mining, environmental conservation and disaster management.
Core provisions emphasise data confidentiality, cyber‑security safeguards, transparency and responsible use of technology. The policy also mandates the formation of an AI ethics committee to oversee compliance and ensure public trust.
To operationalise the policy, the state will launch the State AI Mission, an AI Cloud platform, an AI Innovation Hub and a dedicated AI Park. These entities will provide shared infrastructure, research facilities and incubation support for startups and established firms.
The government highlighted the importance of skill development, announcing collaborations with academic institutions to design AI‑focused curricula, certification programmes and hands‑on training for officials and youth.
Through the policy, Jharkhand seeks to foster an ecosystem where innovation thrives, private investment is attracted, and AI becomes an integral tool for delivering efficient, citizen‑centric services.
