Jamshedpur ACB Executes Sting Operation, Seizes Bribe Money from Officer
The Jamshedpur Anti‑Corruption Bureau successfully executed a planned sting operation in West Singhbhum, resulting in the arrest of Bhandgaon police station head Manish Kumar. The operation was triggered by a grievance that the officer asked for a sum of Rs 15,000 to manipulate an NDPS case file.
After confirming the complaint's authenticity, ACB operatives arranged a meeting with the alleged bribe payer. When the officer accepted the cash, the ACB team emerged and apprehended him without resistance. The fifteen thousand rupees were recovered and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
The bureau has begun formal legal proceedings and is probing the incident further to uncover any broader network of corruption within the local police force.
