Artists Showcase Talent on Cultural Stage of Information and Public Relations Department

Ranchi, July 23. The eighth day of the promotional cultural program organized by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Jharkhand, from July 16 at the historic Jagannathpur Rath Mela, witnessed a wonderful synergy of folk culture and public awareness. On one hand, the registered cultural troupes of the department brought Jharkhand's rich folk traditions to life, while on the other hand, they created awareness among people through impactful presentations on topics related to the state government's welfare schemes and social concerns. The program began with a prayer to Lord Jagannath by Sudama Singh, an artist from Khukhra-garh Cultural Art Center. This was followed by a captivating performance of Mardani Jhumur and Nagpuri song-dance under his direction, which greatly entertained the audience. On this occasion, Padma Shri Madhumansuri Hansmukh, who graced the departmental stage, said that this initiative by the Jharkhand government and the Information and Public Relations Department is highly commendable. He added that the government is doing important work in promoting public interest messages as well as preserving Jharkhand's folk art and culture and providing a platform for artists, for which he congratulates the government and the department. At the program, promotional presentations based on various welfare schemes of the government were given along with Nagpuri song-dance, led by artist Neetu Devi of Performing Art Center. Simultaneously, a powerful street play on the theme of de-addiction and Nagpuri song-dance was staged by the artists of Heera Nagpur Cultural Art Center, led by Ratan Lohra, which was highly appreciated by the audience. The program organized by the Information and Public Relations Department is becoming an example of effective coordination of art, culture, and mass communication. Alongside the department's efforts, the state government's commitment towards the preservation and promotion of art and culture is also clearly visible through these events. On July 24, the ninth day of the program, performances will include Oraon folk songs-dances led by R.R. Mehta of Prajwalit Vihar, Nagpuri song-dances led by Meghnath Mahto of Chhotanagpuri Kala Kendra, and Nagpuri song-dances led by Hariram Karmali of Samaj Kalyan Manch. The program will conclude on July 25, on the occasion of the Ghurti Rath Mela. Rajesh Badaik, Somnath Minz, Sulekha Meena Kacchap, Eklavya Bhagat, Chhoti Tirkey, Poonam, Amit, Ajay, and Anuj Oraon, along with the departmental team, played a significant role in making today's event a success.
