Honorable Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Honorable Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the historic Jagannathpur temple Rath Yatra festival. In this occasion, the Honorable Governor and Honorable Chief Minister performed the proper worship of Lord Jagannath, sister Subhadra and brother Balabhadra and wished all the people of Jharkhand happiness, peace, prosperity, well‑being and progress. Honorable Chief Minister Hemant Soren, following traditional rites, pulled the rope of Lord Jagannath’s chariot with devotion and enthusiasm, inaugurating the Rath Yatra while chanting “Jai Jai Jagannath”. Along with the Chief Minister, thousands of devotees also shouted “Jai‑Jai Jagannath”. The Chief Minister also extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the Rath Yatra as a festival of devotion and dedication to all the state’s citizens. The Chief Minister announced the construction of a grand gateway (toran) at the temple. On the auspicious occasion of the Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister addressed the devotees saying that the grandeur of Jagannathpur temple will be given greater recognition and that this historic religious site will be firmly placed on the tourism map. He said that a magnificent toran will be built on the road connecting the temple so that the Jagannath temple at Dhurva, Ranchi becomes known from afar. He added that the Rath Yatra festival is awaited by devotees throughout the year and that today’s attendance reflects the divinity, grandeur and attraction of Jagannathpur temple. In the future, the Rath Yatra fair will be made even more successful and effective. On this occasion, honorable ministers, MPs, MLAs along with many other dignitaries and a large number of devotees were present.
