Chief Minister Hemant Soren to Hoist Flag at Morhabadi Maidan; Rehearsal Details

Ranchi’s Morhabadi Maidan is set to host the Independence Day flag‑hoisting ceremony, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren expected to preside over the event on August 15. A full‑dress rehearsal was carried out on Thursday, monitored by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajanti and Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan.

The drill encompassed all ceremonial components, from the marching columns to the cultural presentations. Security officials conducted a comprehensive briefing, stressing strict adherence to timelines and responsibilities. A blanket ban on unauthorised drone activity has been enforced; only duly sanctioned departmental drones may capture images or video.

The parade featured troops from CRPF, ITBP, SSB, CISF, Odisha Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police units (JAP‑1, JAP‑2, JAP‑10). Supporting bands from JAP‑1, JAP‑10 and the Jharkhand Home Guard added musical accompaniment. NCC cadet platoons also participated.

First‑in‑Command for the ceremony will be IPS officer Raghavendra Sharma (2022 batch), currently posted in Ramgarh, while Second‑in‑Command will be Assistant Superintendent Pravar Dwitiya Anish Momin Kujur. All security personnel have been instructed to conduct rigorous checks to prevent any breach of protocol.
