Hemant Soren Calls for Exam Reform After Cancelling JPSC Tests
In a landmark address to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren confirmed that the 14th JPSC Preliminary Test and two backlog examinations would no longer take place. The move aims to address mounting accusations of paper leaks and systemic flaws raised by students.
The CM announced that the TDPL agency will conduct a detailed audit of the examination procedures. He also introduced the "Students' Voice with Students" initiative, which has already gathered more than 8,500 suggestions on topics ranging from OMR accuracy to exam scheduling and scorecard transparency.
Soren appealed to the state's young population to continue sharing constructive feedback, asserting that the reforms will create a more equitable and accountable examination ecosystem for Jharkhand’s youth.
The announcement came amid a broader political debate on the integrity of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
