Heavy Showers Expected from Uttar Pradesh to Tripura, Himalayan States Also Affected

A fresh wave of moisture is sweeping from Uttar Pradesh in the west to Tripura in the east. The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms across the entire stretch. In Uttar Pradesh, districts such as Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, and Gorakhpur are under a rain‑and‑storm warning. Bihar and Jharkhand follow a similar pattern, with several districts flagged for intense showers.

The northeastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura – are all placed under a heavy‑rain advisory, with frequent lightning expected in many valleys. West Bengal districts also feature in the alert list.

The monsoon’s reach extends to the southern peninsular region, where Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to experience intermittent rain throughout the week.

In the mountains, Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Pithoragarh districts are under a heavy‑rain warning, while Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Solan zones have been advised of strong winds. Jammu & Kashmir may also see rain mixed with gusty conditions.
