Health department orders September honorarium clearance for outsourced and NHM workers
Ranchi – Dr. Neha Arora, the Special Secretary overseeing health, medical education and family welfare, has mandated that all pending honorarium payments for outsourced staff and National Health Mission employees be completed by the end of September. The move, announced during a video‑conference on Friday, aims to ensure that funds reach personnel before Durga Puja and other festivals.
The conference featured district officials who presented payment data up to August. The secretary warned that any delay beyond September would be unacceptable, and instructed districts to forward any additional funding requirements without hesitation.
A separate agenda item focused on the honorarium of “sahiyas”, a fixed amount of ₹12,000 per worker. Districts must provide payment slips and verification reports to confirm the disbursement.
Attending the meeting were NHM campaign director Shashi Prakash Jha, Joint Secretary Lalit Mohan Shukla, DIC Dr. Siddharth Sanyal, along with civil surgeons representing each district.
The directive underscores the department’s commitment to financial transparency and timely compensation for frontline health workers during the festive season.
