Gumla Missing Child: HC Mandates Police Presence in Hearing

In a significant judicial intervention, the Jharkhand High Court heard a plea regarding the recovery of a minor girl who vanished from Gumla in 2018. The state government informed the bench that the investigation is now moving towards scientific testing. A petition has been filed in the lower court to conduct a narco-analysis test on a female suspect, with the hearing scheduled for this Wednesday. The High Court has granted the state additional time to proceed with these tests but insisted on a time-bound investigation. While the SP and SDPO have been exempted from the next hearing, the Investigating Officer (IO) must be present to update the court on every step of the search. The bench emphasized that the recovery of the child is of paramount importance, and no stones should be left unturned in the pursuit of justice for the grieving family.
