Gumla crackdown seizes rifles, ammo and communication gear from JJMPC suspects

The recent Gumla police operation against the outlawed Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of weaponry and electronic equipment. Among the items recovered were an AK‑56 rifle with its magazine, an SLR rifle with its magazine, a semi‑automatic rifle, and live rounds for each firearm.

In addition to the firearms, officers recovered a walkie‑talkie, eight mobile phones, a Wi‑Fi dongle and several pamphlets that promoted JJMPC and Naxalite ideology. The cache points to a well‑organized supply chain supporting the insurgents’ activities in the region.

The police have confirmed that the arrested militants, including the sub‑zonal commander with a five‑lakh‑rupee bounty, are being interrogated to trace the source of the arms and to dismantle the communication network that facilitated their operations.
