Scholar B.Ed. College in Banhatti, Giridih, recently hosted a vibrant orientation ceremony for its B.Ed. session 2025-27 trainees, alongside a heartwarming farewell for the graduating D.El.Ed. session 2023-25 cohort. The event saw esteemed guests, including College Director Pramod Kumar and Sardav Joravar Singh Saluja, gracing the occasion. Principal Dr. Shalini Khovala and D.El.Ed. in-charge Dr. Hardeep Kaur warmly welcomed everyone with bouquets. The ceremony officially commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
During her address, Principal Dr. Shalini Khovala provided incoming B.Ed. trainees with a comprehensive overview of college regulations and course specifics. She inspired students with a powerful quote attributed to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: ‘Dreams are not what you see in sleep, dreams are those that don’t let you sleep.’ Dr. Khovala emphasized that the college is more than just a building; it’s a ‘laboratory of values and leadership,’ fostering the development of future generations.
Guest of honor, Pramod Kumar, highlighted the profound impact of educators, stating that teachers possess the unique ability to shape entire generations. He drew parallels to luminaries like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, suggesting that each student holds the potential to become a great teacher or a subject matter expert. Kumar encouraged students to aspire not only to be teachers but also successful entrepreneurs, institution builders, and educational leaders.
Dr. Hardeep Kaur, the D.El.Ed. in-charge, boosted the trainees’ morale and wished them a bright future. Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, trainees presented a captivating array of cultural performances that enthralled the audience.
As part of the orientation, B.Ed. session 2025-27 trainees received essential supplies including diaries, pens, and syllabi. The D.El.Ed. session 2023-25 top ten performers were recognized with mementos and certificates of appreciation. Monali Gupta was honored as the District Topper and Student of the Session. Other accolades included awards for Uma Murmu (Most Disciplined), Shivam Kumar (Most Obedient), and several students recognized for their consistent engagement.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Choudhary expertly coordinated the event, with Tasneen Saba and Shubham Kumar skillfully managing the stage proceedings. The ceremony was attended by all assistant professors, non-teaching staff, and trainees.
