Ranchi, The fourth meeting of the Governing Body of the Jharkhand Eco Tourism Authority (JETA) was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren in the Chief Minister’s chamber at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to identify the places in the state where there are better possibilities for the development of eco-tourism. The Chief Minister instructed the officials of the Forest, Tourism and Water Resources departments to coordinate among themselves and move forward by creating a better action plan for the development of eco-tourism in the state. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand is a very beautiful and attractive state by nature. There are immense possibilities for eco-tourism in Jharkhand. Local people will be able to get employment in the identified places within the state where eco-tourism will be developed, and the protection of nature will also be ensured. Ensure implementation within the stipulated timeframe. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren emphasized on selecting places with eco-tourism potential and developing better infrastructure there. In the meeting, the officials discussed in detail with the Chief Minister regarding the promotion and development of eco-tourism concerning many places including Maithon, Netarhat, Patratu, Chaibasa, Dumka, Ranchi. Discussion was also held regarding developing eco-tourism in Patratu on the lines of Masanjore. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for eco-tourism development and ensure its implementation within the stipulated timeframe. Eco-tourism is a powerful medium for job creation and economic development. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that eco-tourism can not only give national and international recognition to the natural beauty of the state, but it can also become a powerful medium for local employment generation and economic development. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that it is the priority of the state government to identify the major religious places, forest areas, rivers, reservoirs and hilly areas of the state and develop tourism facilities there while maintaining environmental balance. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri Sudivya Kumar, Chief Secretary Shri Avinash Kumar, Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department Shri Abu Bakar Siddiqui, Secretary, Water Resources Department Shri Prashant Kumar, Secretary, Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department Shri Mukesh Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and (HoFF) Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife and Chief Wildlife Warden Shri S.R. Natesh, along with representatives from the Ecotourism Society of India.
