Final Jharkhand Voter Roll to Be Released on November 30 After SIR Extension
The Election Commission of India has announced a further extension of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) timeline for Jharkhand’s electoral roll. The final list of voters is now expected to be published on 30 November, following a series of hearings on objections and claims.
District election officers had earlier sought additional time to complete the SIR process. The commission responded with a revised schedule, and Chief Election Officer K. Ravi Kumar has directed all district officials to execute the tasks within the new framework.
Key milestones include the clearing of no‑mapping and logical discrepancy notices by 22 October, followed by a second notice deadline on 31 October. BLOs will then conduct house‑to‑house verification of any voter who has not provided the required documents. All remaining non‑notice issues will be resolved concurrently.
All forms‑related claims (Forms 6, 6A, 7, 8) will be digitised by 31 October. From 1‑12 November, a home‑to‑roll verification of eligible citizens who were previously omitted will be carried out. Between 1‑21 November, a super‑checking exercise involving District Electoral Officers, roll observers and the Chief Electoral Officer will review every resolved notice.
The commission plans to close all SIR‑related disputes by 23 November. From 24‑29 November, the data will be audited against electoral standards and cleared for printing. The final, error‑free voter roll will be released on 30 November, guaranteeing that every qualified Indian citizen is listed and no disqualified or foreign individuals gain entry.
