Family Values Emphasized Through Statues at Ranchi Durga Puja

The Ranchi Durga Puja pandal, located close to the Namkum railway station, goes beyond the usual religious spectacle by highlighting familial respect. In addition to the main goddess, the display includes twin figures representing the parents of the event’s organizer, underscoring the importance of caring for elders.

Other installations depict a mother nurturing a child, a brother‑in‑law scene, and a tableau where siblings stand united, all designed to convey harmony within households. The political statues of Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and the brothers Tej Pratap and Tej Swami also serve as allegories for brotherly cooperation.

The architecture mirrors the Hawa Mahal, offering a visual treat that blends cultural heritage with spiritual devotion.

Donations collected during the nine‑day festival are channelled to assist poor families and fund matrimonial expenses for daughters of financially strained households.
