The monsoon surge is set to hit the eastern and central parts of the country hard. Rajasthan’s eastern districts are likely to see very heavy rain, while Madhya Pradesh can expect a mix of moderate to heavy showers. In the plains of West Bengal, especially the Gangetic tracts, and in coastal Odisha, the department forecasts substantial rainfall that could lead to localized flooding.
Central Maharashtra, along with the coastal stretches of Gujarat, the Konkan belt, and Goa, are also on the radar for significant precipitation. The forecast suggests that the rainfall will be persistent, potentially disrupting daily commutes, agricultural activities, and small‑scale businesses.
