Deputy Commissioner Promises Direct Phone Support to Orphan Kids

On May 15, Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat visited Ekoni village after a tweet by social worker Satish Sharma highlighted the plight of three orphaned children. During the visit, the officials reassured Anjali Kumari, Himachal Kumar and Himanshu Kumar that the administration would leave no stone unturned in their welfare.

The Deputy Commissioner personally handed each child his mobile number, urging them to call him directly for any assistance, be it educational, medical or daily necessities. This gesture was accompanied by the formal approval of a sponsorship plan that will credit ₹4,000 per child to their bank accounts each month.

Alongside cash aid, the children have been attached to a local guardian, a Block Programme Officer, a teacher and the block supply officer to guarantee that schooling and ration distribution continue without interruption. Monthly health check‑ups by a doctor‑team and a keypad mobile device for instant communication have also been introduced.

Further infrastructure support includes the installation of electric lighting, fans and an imminent provision of a gas stove, ensuring a stable living environment for the three orphans.
