In a candid interaction with the media at the Vidhan Sabha complex in Ranchi, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren called upon the Central government to adopt the supportive role of an elder sibling for the state’s holistic growth. Declaring Jharkhand a backward region, Soren pressed for greater economic aid and active involvement during the ongoing budget session.
Detailing state initiatives, the CM highlighted efforts to fortify rural economies, improve education via dedicated tribal student hostels, and elevate health services under the Digital Health Mission. He also spotlighted welfare programs tailored for tribals and underprivileged groups, including the women-empowering Mukhyamantri Maaiyaan Samman Yojana and housing scheme Abua Awas for the shelterless.
‘Our government is committed to uplifting every section of society,’ Soren affirmed, underscoring the need for Centre-state synergy. This plea arrives amid discussions on federal funding, where Jharkhand seeks a larger share to harness its potential in mining, industry, and agriculture.
Political analysts view this as a strategic move to spotlight regional disparities. With the budget session in full swing, Soren’s words could pave the way for renewed federal partnerships, promising accelerated development and inclusive growth for Jharkhand’s 3.3 crore residents.
