Ranchi. Today, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren met with Shri Deepak Chhabria, President of RMZ Infrastructure, at the Chief Minister's residential office located on Kanke Road, Ranchi. During this meeting, detailed discussions were held on developing a state-of-the-art IT Park in Jharkhand, establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC), and promoting technological and industrial investment. The meeting deliberated on investment possibilities in emerging sectors such as Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Semiconductor, Manufacturing, Nuclear Energy, and Digital Infrastructure. Furthermore, discussions also took place on creating the necessary infrastructure and an industry-friendly environment to develop Ranchi as a major hub for IT, innovation, and high-skilled employment.
Target of IT Park commencement by 2029, creating 20,000 jobs in the first phase and 75,000 in the next three years.
Under the proposed plan, work will be undertaken towards the commencement of an IT Park in Ranchi by the year 2029. The target is to generate approximately 20,000 employment opportunities in the first phase and increase its capacity to provide about 75,000 employment opportunities in the next three years. This is expected to create new opportunities for technical and high-skill-based employment for the talented youth of the state. For this ambitious project, approximately 100 acres of land available near IIM Ranchi, the new Assembly complex, and the High Court complex is being considered for development as a potential site. The proposed IT Park envisions developing modern office and digital infrastructure along with facilities required for global-level technology companies and institutions. This initiative is a significant part of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren's vision to give a new direction to Jharkhand's economy and develop Ranchi as a major center for IT, innovation, and high-skilled employment.
Investment in IT, AI, GCC, and emerging technologies in Jharkhand to get a boost.
During the meeting, special discussions were also held on the possibilities of establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC). Through GCC, IT and AI services, digital technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, nuclear energy, and other high-skill tasks for global companies can be operated from Jharkhand. This is expected to accelerate the expansion of private investment, technical employment, and high-skill job opportunities in the state. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren stated that the government is working towards developing a strong and modern IT and technical ecosystem by connecting Jharkhand with future technologies and new industrial possibilities. He emphasized that attracting investment to the state, along with creating employment and high-skill-based opportunities for local youth, is among the government's priorities.
The Chief Minister further added that to make Ranchi a major center for IT, innovation, and emerging technologies, it is necessary to move forward in collaboration with the industry. Jharkhand will be prepared for the new economy by integrating the state's talented human resources, natural resources, and development potential with modern technology.
As per the Chief Minister's instructions, a delegation from the Department of Information Technology and E-Governance will likely visit Bengaluru in October. The delegation will study the developed IT Park, technical ecosystem, and Global Capability Centre model there, and observe the IT infrastructure, investment arrangements, and facilities available for industries. This study will help in preparing the necessary action plan for the development of the IT Park and related technical ecosystem in Jharkhand.
RMZ Infrastructure has expressed interest in the possibilities related to state-of-the-art IT Parks, digital infrastructure, and future technology sectors in Jharkhand. Various aspects of available opportunities and potential collaborations for technical and industrial investment in the state were also discussed during the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren stated that the government is committed to working towards providing better opportunities for youth within the state through the expansion of modern technology, innovation, and industrial activities, and to develop Ranchi as one of the leading IT centers in the country.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Shri Avnish Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Information Technology and E-Governance, Mrs. Pooja Singhal, and Director of Jharkhand Space Applications Centre (JSAC), Ms. Madhvi Mishra, were present.
