Chief Minister Hemant Soren conducted a high-level review of the updated work progress of the Road Construction Department today. The Chief Minister said, “The expansion of roads and bridges will give new momentum to Jharkhand’s development.” He emphasized making the database and geo-tagging of all projects mandatory to ensure transparency and swift action. He stressed quick resolution of complaints received through media and social media and prioritized improving road quality. He directed officials to complete pending work promptly. The Road Construction Department’s extensive building of roads, flyovers and bridges is creating a new picture of development in the state. In the coming time, Jharkhand will develop a strong and extensive road network, facilitating smooth travel and boosting economic activities. These remarks were made at a high-level review meeting of the Road Construction Department chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the Jharkhand Ministry. During the meeting, departmental officials presented detailed plans of the past five years, ongoing and completed works, covering roads, flyovers, over-bridges and bridges, informing about the current status of related projects. The Chief Minister, after reviewing the presentation, instructed officials to complete work on schedule and prioritize pending tasks. He said all plans should be prepared and implemented within the stipulated timeframes and pending works should be completed swiftly based on priority. All projects must have a database and mandatory geo-tagging for transparency and rapid action. The Chief Minister directed the Road Construction Department to prepare an updated, well-organized database of all projects and ensure geo-tagging, providing clear details of status, cost, timeline and progress for effective monitoring. He said geo-tagging will increase transparency and strengthen the monitoring system, and urged prompt identification of problems and quick resolution of complaints. He urged priority action on potholes, waterlogging and poor roads. The Chief Minister said he receives suggestions and complaints about road conditions, potholes, waterlogging and construction work through various channels and instructed officials to acknowledge them, prioritize solutions, and regularly provide updated information. He asked special attention to repairing potholes, arranging proper drainage and improving road quality during the monsoon season, and also emphasized widening and strengthening narrow lanes. He urged accelerating pending projects and prioritising major works. The Chief Minister emphasized speeding up progress of ongoing road, flyover and bridge projects to provide better facilities to the public. He gave instructions to ensure timely completion of important projects in Ranchi and other regions, while reviewing solar cycle tracks and other new projects to maintain quality and durability. He directed strengthening the sides of bridges, improving drainage and adhering to high-quality standards in all construction work. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Road Construction Department Secretary Sunil Kumar, Chief Engineer Praveen Jayant Bhemba and senior officials of the department.
