CCTV Footage Shows Bold Theft of High‑Value Cigarettes in Jharkhand Capital

Security recordings from a cigarette agency on Radium Road, Ranchi, reveal a shocking heist that left the business owner reeling. Two individuals, wearing masks, forced open a side door, broke the lock, and entered the premises late at night. They targeted the inventory of cigarette cartons, taking stock valued at an estimated 20 lakh rupees, and also stole cash from the shop counter.

The CCTV system, positioned both inside and outside the building, captured clear images of the suspects loading the goods into bags and exiting the complex. Police officials have used the video as the primary source for identifying the perpetrators.

Officers from Kotwali police station, accompanied by a forensic team, arrived to secure the scene, collect DNA samples, and document any physical evidence left behind. They are also reviewing footage from neighboring establishments to map the thieves' movements after the robbery.

The incident has sparked a debate over the adequacy of existing security measures in a bustling commercial area. Authorities are urging other businesses in the vicinity to upgrade surveillance and access control systems to deter similar crimes.
