Call for Transparent Investigation of Form-7 Applications in Voter List

In a statement released on Tuesday, Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari demanded a comprehensive and transparent probe into the surge of Form‑7 applications allegedly aimed at erasing about 41,000 voter names. The minister highlighted that many of these submissions fail to meet the standard format, raising concerns about possible manipulation of the electoral roll.

Ansari appealed to the Election Commission and district authorities to audit each Form‑7 request impartially, ensuring that no legitimate voter is removed without due verification. He warned that false objections filed against genuine voters could distort the democratic process.

The minister reported that the alleged scheme appears to target tribal, minority and anti‑BJP segments of the electorate. He called on citizens of Jamarda to verify their details on the voter list and lodge complaints if any inconsistencies are discovered.

Congress, according to Ansari, stands ready to take legal action against any breaches identified during the investigation, reinforcing its commitment to protect the voting rights of every citizen.
