BJP Criticises New FIRs Amid Student Demonstrations in Giridih and Hazaribagh

Authorities in Hazaribagh's Korra police station filed an FIR on August 21 that named 18 persons and listed 700 unnamed individuals. The complaint was lodged after a group tried to burst the chief minister's dummy and allegedly obstructed government work while physically assaulting officers. Police spokesperson Rupa Kumar Singh said the FIR was based on a request from senior district officer Ashutosh Kumar.

No arrests have been made yet; investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify participants. Eight police personnel, including four sub‑inspectors, suffered injuries during the confrontations.
