Authorities Recover Body After Student Succumbs to Deep Water at Rimix

Emergency services responded swiftly after a distress call reported a drowning at Rimix Falls, Khunti. Nilesh Kachhap, a college student from the Doranda police area, had gone missing while swimming in the waterfall's pool. Despite repeated cautions from other visitors about a designated danger zone, Nilesh and his companions entered the deeper waters. The young man vanished within moments, prompting frantic attempts by his friends to rescue him.

Maranghada police, aided by local divers, conducted an intensive search that lasted three hours. The body was finally recovered and handed over to the Maranghada Primary Health Centre, where medical officials declared the death. A post‑mortem examination was later performed at Khunti District Hospital. The loss has sparked renewed discussions on the need for better safety infrastructure at popular tourist destinations.
