Arnab Cyclone Threat: Ranchi Schools Off on Oct 28-29
Due to the risk of severe weather caused by Cyclone Arnab, the Ranchi district administration has announced that schools will stay shut on October 28 and 29.
The closure order requires all schools to halt classes for children from KG through Class 12. It is applicable to every category of school in the district, including government, government-aided, minority, and private institutions.
The weather department has warned of heavy rain across various parts of Jharkhand. Ranchi has been flagged for the possibility of high-speed winds and intense rainfall.
Private schools that had already planned examinations have been permitted to decide whether to proceed. They must, however, notify the District Education Officer or the District Education Superintendent's office before taking that step.
Students will not have classes during the closure. Teachers and staff, however, must remain at school on both days and handle non-academic responsibilities. Teacher presence in government and aided schools will also be logged on the e-Vidyavahini portal.
The administration has requested that school authorities, teachers, parents, and students take the weather warnings seriously, prepare accordingly, and comply with all official instructions.
