Argoda 2024 Durga Puja Pandal Features 50‑Foot Structure and Bengal Artisans
In preparation for this year’s Durga Puja, Argoda is set to unveil a colossal pandal reminiscent of iconic theme‑park designs. The construction effort has drawn expert craftsmen from West Bengal, who are assembling a palace‑styled edifice that will dominate the skyline.
According to the committee’s spokesperson, the temporary shrine will reach approximately 50 feet in height, with a width of 30 feet and a length of 40 feet. The outer walls will be painted in a bright white, while a blue dome crowns the top. Decorative Durga flags will be strategically placed across the structure to heighten its visual impact.
The centerpiece of the pandal will be a 14‑foot statue of the Mother Goddess, commissioned to veteran sculptor Jagdish Chandra Pal. A smaller representation of Lord Shiva will also be installed within the interior. The project’s total estimated cost stands at three million rupees, covering construction, lighting, rituals and the statue itself.
