The East Singhbhum district has initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited narcotics, as directed by the state government. The campaign was launched at the Collectorate premises. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off an awareness chariot, aiming to disseminate the message of freedom from drug addiction across the district. This chariot will travel to various blocks within the district, educating people about the adverse effects of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath of abstinence to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that drug addiction affects not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner urged every section of society to participate in this campaign to help create a drug-free society. He appealed to citizens to actively engage in the campaign and raise awareness among those around them against drug abuse. Through this campaign, the district administration will spread the message of freedom from drug addiction across the district and inspire everyone to stay away from its harmful effects. The special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, and will feature various awareness programs to inform people about the consequences of drug addiction.
