Alcohol-Fueled Clash Leads to Murder in Jharkhand Village
An altercation fueled by alcohol and a small cash dispute resulted in a fatal stabbing‑like assault in the rural hamlet of Bendokani, Kurdeg police jurisdiction, Simdega district, Jharkhand. The older brother, identified as Suman Dungdung, grabbed a nearby wooden stick and a thick wooden plank, delivering repeated blows to his younger brother Vinod Dungdung.
Medical officials confirmed that Vinod died instantly due to massive head injuries. The incident unfolded after both brothers returned home from work; a payment disagreement quickly escalated when they were in an intoxicated state. Villagers alerted law enforcement, prompting a swift response.
Kurdeg police seized the murder weapon, secured the body for forensic analysis, and placed Suman under custody. The department announced that the case is being pursued under sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to homicide, with interrogations ongoing to establish the full scope of the conflict.
