80th Independence Day Celebrated at Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi with Flag Hoisting and Cultural Programs

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ranchi across both its campuses. The national flag was unfurled on both campuses on this occasion. The ceremony was led by the institute's Director, Prof. Rajiv Srivastava. Faculty members, staff, and students of the institute were present on the occasion.

The ceremony commenced with the formal hoisting of the national flag, followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem. During the program, thoughts were shared on the significance of independence, the responsibilities associated with it, and the role of each generation in building the nation's future.

On this occasion, the institute's Director, Prof. Rajiv Srivastava, addressed the attendees, sharing his thoughts on the importance of Independence Day and guiding the students and the institute community. He inspired everyone to move forward with a sense of responsibility, continuous learning, creativity, and a meaningful contribution to the nation's development.

Various cultural and literary performances were presented by students during the Independence Day celebration. The Saz Music Club presented a musical performance, followed by a dance performance by the Nrityarashi Club. The Alphaaz Club presented a special speech, while the Acting Club engaged the audience through a theatrical presentation.

During the ceremony, winners of India's "Play for India program," held between August 12-14, 2026, were also awarded prizes. In this event, students and staff enthusiastically participated in various sports competitions, including Futsal, Chess, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Carrom. Participants who excelled in various competitions were honored with prizes.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks. On this occasion, everyone was urged to carry forward the spirit of independence through responsible conduct, continuous learning, creativity, and meaningful contribution to society and the nation.
