10 Benches Set Up to Settle 2,809 Pending Cases in Ranchi
Ranchi’s Civil Court hosted a dedicated Lok Adalat where ten benches were formed to address a backlog of 2,809 civil disputes. The event, overseen by the District Legal Services Authority, focused on achieving settlements through mutual agreement.
Collectively, the parties agreed to a financial settlement totaling ₹1,08,12,598, illustrating the effectiveness of the adalat model in delivering rapid outcomes. By encouraging direct negotiation, the forum reduced the need for lengthy judicial processes.
Officials highlighted that the success of this large‑scale Lok Adalat demonstrates the potential of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to streamline justice delivery and conserve resources for both litigants and the judiciary.
