Jharkhand Unveils Road and Rural Development Plans Alongside New Medical Institute

In addition to sanctioning the RIMS‑2 medical college, the Jharkhand cabinet announced a series of infrastructure upgrades. The Dumka‑Sahibganj stretch will be widened to a two‑lane highway with pedestrian pathways, a project budgeted at ₹221 crore. Another ₹88 crore will fund a separate road in Sahibganj, while ₹128 crore is earmarked for connecting Pakur’s rural sections to main roads and constructing new bridges. A further ₹33 crore will rejuvenate the Simaria‑Tandwa corridor in Chatra. The capital’s Birsa Chowk to Dhurva roundabout and Police Headquarters road will also be remodelled with wider lanes, a dedicated cycle track, landscaping and public amenities.
