Jharkhand Police Reveal NCB Impostor Plot That Swindled Passengers of ‘Star Fish’ Bus

Authorities in Chhatra disclosed the unmasking of a cross‑state gang that masqueraded as NCB officials to pilfer 31.90 lakh rupees from a passenger bus. The operation, captured on the bus’s surveillance system, showed the thieves boarding the vehicle, brandishing fake NCB badges, and intimidating travelers into handing over cash. A rapid response team, under DSP Sunil Kumar Singh, traced the suspects using technical surveillance and local intelligence. Five accused were apprehended from separate locations in Jharkhand and Bihar, and a black Thar and part of the cash were recovered. The police have placed the suspects in judicial custody while expanding the search for other members of the network.
