Jharkhand High Court Continues Hearing on JPSC Appointment Scrapping
In a continuation of the legal battle over the Jharkhand government’s order to annul the recruitment results of JPSC’s 11th‑13th combined civil services examinations, as well as CDPO and food safety officer vacancies, the High Court has kept the matter pending. Justice Deepak Roshan’s bench granted both the petitioners and the state a brief window until Thursday to submit written briefs. The judges highlighted that the Supreme Court’s guidance on exam cancellations is unambiguous, and the next step is to determine if the examination framework is so compromised that separating dishonest candidates from honest ones is no longer feasible. Petitioners cautioned against a blanket cancellation, emphasizing procedural safeguards and the need for individual assessment. Government counsel, citing alleged financial irregularities, CID arrests and sealed documents, pressed for a full revocation of the appointments.
