Jha Raises Concerns on Mosque Demolition, Temple Vandalism and School Curriculum

Manoj Kumar Jha, a senior member of the National People’s Party in the Upper House, sharpened his critique of the central government and its allies on several fronts. The parliamentarian also cited the recent incident of temple vandalism in Pakistan, emphasizing the need for India to champion the protection of all religious heritage.

Jha’s remarks extended to the handling of the Swatantra Bharadwaj case, where he condemned the hours‑long delay in police action, describing it as a failure to protect democratic rights. He invoked educators like Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Paulo Freire to underline the importance of critical thinking and the right to question authority in schools.

Finally, he warned that the rapid expansion of RSS‑affiliated schools could embed a narrow worldview, potentially reshaping young minds to mirror the ideology of Nithuram Godse rather than the inclusive vision of the Indian Constitution.
