JD(U) welcomes Joint Parliamentary Committee review of FCRA Bill
JD(U) leaders praised the recent decision to send the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for detailed scrutiny. Shyam Rajak explained that a bill examined by a JPC undergoes comprehensive discussion involving all parties, ensuring that diverse viewpoints are considered before it returns to Parliament for a vote. He highlighted that this process strengthens legislative oversight and improves the quality of the final law.
The party’s spokesperson, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, added that the JPC’s involvement signals a constructive step toward transparent regulation of foreign funds. He emphasized that the committee’s thorough analysis will help shape a balanced act that safeguards national interests while allowing legitimate foreign contributions to support development projects.
