JD(U) backs demolition, says law trumps religious structures

JD(U) national general secretary Shyam Rajak, addressing a gathering in Patna, clarified that the government is obligated to act when a building—whether a mosque, temple or church—fails to meet legal requirements. He emphasized that legal compliance takes precedence over devotional sentiments, and that the administration’s action was consistent with constitutional and statutory provisions. The party’s stance contrasts sharply with the accusations from other opposition groups, presenting the demolition as a lawful enforcement rather than a communal provocation.
