JD(U) spokesperson highlights Bihar’s flood preparedness amid Nepal disaster

Niraj Kumar, spokesperson for the Janata Dal (United), recalled recent discussions with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on the challenges faced by Mithilanchal during Nepal’s floods. He noted that Bihar previously lacked a dedicated flood policy, a gap that was addressed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who instituted pre‑emptive flood management measures. Kumar pointed out that despite these steps, the state continues to grapple with rising water levels in the Ganga, especially in districts like Begusarai and Bhagalpur, and urged the centre to provide additional technical and financial support.
