Jammu‑Kashmir Police Awards 38 Gallantry and 13 Service Medals

In Srinagar, the Jammu‑Kashmir Police marked Independence Day by conferring 38 gallantry medals and 13 meritorious service medals to its personnel. Distinguished officers such as DIG Shiv Kumar, SSP Shobhit D. Saxena, SP Mushtaq Ahmad and Deputy SP Sarfaraz Bashir were among the gallantry awardees. The meritorious service medals honoured thirteen officers for exemplary conduct. Additionally, a Home Guard soldier received a meritorious service medal. The ceremony reflects the police’s historic role in confronting terrorism since the 1990s and its status as one of the nation’s most disciplined forces.
