Jammu incident triggers swift police action, minister pledges strict law enforcement

After a video showing alleged molestation of a minor student went viral from Jamui’s Madwa Hill area on September 19, the police launched a rapid operation. The main accused, Nandan Yadav, was injured during a clash with law enforcement and is now receiving medical treatment.

Police reported that a group of youths stopped the teenage girl and her companion, subjecting her to indecent behavior and physical assault. Following the video’s spread on social media, authorities identified several participants, arresting three initially and forming a Special Investigation Team to track the rest.

Minister Ramkripal Yadav said that anyone confronting police will not be spared, and the government’s zero‑tolerance approach will ensure that no criminal act is ignored, reinforcing the rule of law throughout the state.
