Jaiswal says Modi never called opposition 'mind Naxal', calls it propaganda

Bihar’s minister Dilip Jaiswal addressed media on September 10, refuting the claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ever described the opposition as “mind Naxal”. The remark was made in response to Congress stalwart P. Chidambaram’s boastful statement about the label. Jaiswal said the term is used by a handful of individuals to spread deceptive propaganda aimed at ruining the nation’s image. He defined “mind Naxal” as those who plan violent acts, challenge the constitution, or openly denounce India’s cultural legacy. The minister accused the Congress of trying to mislead the public. Jaiswal also spoke about India’s role in the BRICS coalition, acknowledging specific advantages while emphasizing that the country cannot detach itself from the prevailing global order. Supporting BJP national executive Nitin Nirav’s criticism of Rahul Gandhi’s inability to appreciate “Vande Mataram”, Jaiswal declared that any objection to the anthem would never find acceptance among Indians. He further noted that the “Free Kashmir” chant outside Jahidpur University reflects a long‑standing pattern of anti‑national sentiment on campuses, similar to incidents at JNU.
