Jaipur Blaze at Sitapura Gold Unit: 2 Dead, 5 Hurt in Hospital
A devastating fire at a gold ornament manufacturing factory in Jaipur's Sitapura industrial area has claimed two lives, while five more employees were hospitalised after collapsing inside the premises.
The blaze was reported around 5 pm on Thursday, when workers were on duty inside the facility. The fire triggered confusion across the industrial belt, prompting employees and nearby residents to rush to the location to help.
As per officials, police and fire personnel reached the site as soon as the incident was reported. Two workers were found dead inside the factory, with suffocation being the reason given for their deaths at the scene. Five other employees lost consciousness and were admitted to hospital, where they are under treatment. Their condition is said to be serious. Both bodies have been shifted to the mortuary, and the investigation has begun.
Rescue teams moved quickly to evacuate those who were trapped and assist affected persons. Firefighters battled the flames for some time before successfully extinguishing the fire.
Medical assistance was also arranged promptly for the injured with the help of emergency service staff.
The cause of the fire remains unidentified at this stage. Details on how the fire spread, the financial loss suffered by the factory, and the names of the deceased workers are still awaited. Officials have not yet clarified whether suffocation was the sole reason behind the five employees losing consciousness or whether there were other safety-related problems at the site.
Authorities have indicated that a detailed inquiry will examine the events leading to the deaths and injuries. The incident has once again brought attention to the hazards faced by workers in industrial units, especially during fire emergencies.
