In Jaipur on July 1, the police confronted a large protest by the DNT community demanding a 10 percent reservation in public sector employment. After the Mahapanchayat ended, the crowd attempted to march toward the Chief Minister's residence. Police had established a heavy barricade and deployed additional forces. When protestors tried to breach the barrier, they threw stones at officers. The police responded with a coordinated lathi charge and deployed multiple tear‑gas canisters, scattering the crowd. The operation left more than ten people wounded and resulted in the arrest of roughly fifty protestors.
