New Committee Led by IAS Amitabh Kaushal to Overhaul Jharkhand Competitive Exams

The Jharkhand administration has set up an expert committee to study and recommend reforms for the state’s competitive examination framework. The committee is chaired by IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal, who brings extensive experience in public administration and examination governance.

According to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the panel will conduct an exhaustive review of every stage of the examination process – from question‑paper preparation and security protocols to evaluation and result dissemination. The committee has been asked to propose actionable measures that will eliminate any scope for malpractice and enhance transparency.

In addition to the internal review, the government has launched an online portal inviting suggestions from citizens, educators, and candidates. The portal will remain open for a stipulated period, allowing the public to contribute ideas on improving examination integrity, strengthening SOPs, and ensuring fair assessment.

The proposed reforms aim to create a robust system where no individual or agency can manipulate outcomes. Soren emphasized that the new framework will be backed by stricter legal provisions, and the state will enforce them decisively to protect the aspirations of students and job seekers.

The committee’s findings are expected to be presented to the cabinet within the next few weeks, marking a significant step toward overhauling the recruitment ecosystem in Jharkhand.
